Περίληψη – Summary
Presently, Tuberculosis continues to remain a global health problem. Tuberculosis can affect people of all ages, mainly occurring in developing countries. The present study aims to investigate the TB infection rate in Cyprus within a convenience sample of students at a University in Cyprus. The majority of participants showed a negative result in the Mantoux test whilst only 3 participants (1.9 %) presented a positive result. As observed in the current study, the majority of par-ticipants were not vaccinated against tuberculosis. Possibly, an effective strategy in controlling the spread of the disease would be to conduct a Mantoux test only in people originating from high-load countries.
