Review Article

Περίληψη – Summary
Chronic stress (when present for an extended period of time) can lead to depression and sleep difficulties. In specific circumstances, excessive stress can affect a woman’s hormone levels, delaying or inhibiting ovulation. Furthermore, the couple’s sex life may be interrupted in some circumstances. However, high levels of stress can lead to biological, psychological and social problems and even serious harm to humans. Women with infertility report increased levels of anxiety and depression, so it is clear that infertility causes stress. What is less clear, is whether or not stress causes infertility. The present review aims to gather narrative and systematic reviews of stress studies. This review presents literature regarding the effects of stress on human daily life and what is the correlation with infertility.
