Περίληψη – Summary

Acne, a chronic disease of the piloseba- ceous unit, manifests in a variety of clinical subtypes and is detected in areas abundant with sebaceous glands. Clinically, it is characterized by the appearance of a polymorphous rash and oily skin. (1)The clinical diversity, the multiple pathogenetic factors and the high incidence of the disease create the need for diagnostic methods contributing to its treatment. In this paper we study optic and spectroscopic methods used for the diagnosis of pathological conditions of the skin and ex- amine their capability of appliance in aesthetic practice.
