Περίληψη – Summary

To identify the factors affecting the incidence of spontaneous multiple pregnancy in one cohort of Greek women who delivered between 1993 and 2015. We collected the data of multiple pregnancies except cases with IVF or ovulation induction. Overall, 67 moth- ers were enrolled. We studied mother’s age, weight and height, heredity, personal history, previous pregnancies and the season during the conception. Advanced ma- ternal age, high weight, heredity from both sides and the season were associated more frequently with multiple pregnancies. Moreover, hypertension, anemia, diabetes and cesarean section were increased in these women. In our study, women with spontaneous multiple preg- nancy have specific characteristics in comparison with pregnancies with singletons. Further research should confirm the characteristics of this type of pregnancy.
