| Summary | The benefits of G. C-head space method and G.C.-direct injection method for the determination of ethanol, methanol acetone and isopropanol in blood, are presented and correlated in this study. Both methods showed to be specific, rapid, precise and sensitive for routine determinations and therefore fulfill all the requirements for clinical and medicolegal applications of a toxicological laboratory. The results of ethanol determinations in 74 blood samples in the concentration range 20-500 mg/dl which were analyzed in duplicate by both methods, were highly correlated (r – 0,994). Furthermore the practical use, the beneficial factors and the limitations of the two methods are discussed in detail. | |
