Introduction There were recognized two main types of angiotensin II receptor: AT] and AT2. The blood pressure regulation and water homeostasis are connected with angiotensin II binding to AT receptors. The AT2 receptors are present mainly in embryonic tissues (1), but are found in very few organs in adulthood. Uterus and ovary are rather rich in AT2 receptors, but their role in these organs is not known. The amino acid sequence of AT2 receptor was deduced from its c-DNA structure (2). AT2 receptor is a membrane glycoprotein with seven transmembrane domains and with four extracellular and four intracellular regions. It shows only 32-35% homology with AT] receptor.
