Summary Attempt to isolate biologically active species containing chromium from Cr-rich yeast biomass and manganese from Mn-rich yeast biomass and blueberry leaves have been made in the present work. Artificial Cr- and Mn- complexes with NADP which behaved identically with the natural complexes of these elements in yeast extracts during chromatographic separations were prepared. Biological activities of the complexes in glucose metabolism were tested in vitro using rat adipocytes.
