Summary | The investigation of the effects of various pharmacologically active agents on blast transformation is essential since peripheral blood lymphocytes play a pivotal role in the immune response of the organism. Natural products are known to exhibit a wide range of biological functions including antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activities. The possible immunomodulatory effects of natural products and the mechanisms involved in these processes can be studied by using the in vitro lymphocyte transformation and the cytotoxicity assays. | |
