| Summary | The present essay consists of a first attempt in approaching the issue of CROSS-CULTURAL NURSING and thus to find the issue interesting especially for two primary reasons. Primarily, because it directly concerns the Greek Country due to the presence of a large number of foreigners and other minorities that suffer defective health care. And secondary, because there is no interest in the issue on behalf of the Nurse, due to ignorance and partial occupation with common and depreciated issues. This has as a direct result the almost complete lack of Greek literature as long as the non-existent training of Nursing Personnel on the particular issue. The present essay has a triple purpose. Primarily, it attempts to provide with a general overview of what has been written and said internationally on the issue of Cross-cultural Nursing. Secondly, there is a constant effort of challenging the interest of the Nurses to occupy with the issue in all fields of Nursing e.g. research, education, clinical art etc. Finally, it hopes to challenge the interest of the entire health officers’ circle to look over ethnic minorities while also with the various subcultural groups that exist in Greece, and not only. | |
