Summary | Brain wave patterns are closely related to personality characteristics. Waves that have different frequencies are collated with specific processes in human brain. Psychopharmacology examines how drugs may be involved in these mind processes. Steroid hormones, endogenous substrates, are examined thoroughly for their anxiolytic properties, due to a cortical system regulation over subcortical system of the brain. Cortisol and testosterone effect delta synchronization in human healthy subjects, implicating the effect of these steroids hormones in brain areas. These drugs are under research, for their novel pharmacological properties, an effort to elucidate how personality characteristics may be influenced by drug administration. | ||
