Summary | Febrile seizures are the most prevalent type of seizures in children aged 0-5 years, often recurring in 20-30% of the cases. In daily clinical practice, complex febrile seizures mandate administration of anticonvulsive drugs. Evidence regarding the need to initiate anticonvulsive therapy for the prevention of re-current CFS (rCFS) and what the appropriate choice of treatment should be remains controversial. Decision making depends solely on physician experience and personal preference and opinion. In order to efficiently integrate valid information and provide a basis for rational decision making, the literature was systematically reviewed to determine the best treatment strategy. | ||
