Περίληψη – Summary	– The objective of this study was to examine the possible association of the GST T1 and/ or GST M1 null polymorphisms with the lipid response of Greek patients to atorvastatin. Lipid levels were determined at baseline and following 12 weeks of treatment with a daily dose of 10 mg atorvastatin. Treatment resulted in statistically significant decreases of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triacyglycerols and apoB serum levels. While no statistically significant increases were detected in the total cohort of patients with respect to either HDL-cholesterol or apoA-I levels, the latter appeared to be significantly increased in those patients which carry the GST M1 null genotype.
