Περίληψη – Summary

Η διεπιστημονική συνεργασία σε νοσοκομειακό επίπεδο δεν έχει τύχει μέχρι σήμερα της δέουσας προσοχής και περιορίζεται, συνήθως, μεταξύ ιατρών και νοσηλευτών-νοσηλευτριών. Κρίνεται σκόπιμο ότι αυτή πρέπει να συμπεριλάβει και άλλους συναφείς επιστήμονες, όπως φυσιοθεραπευτές, εργοθεραπευτές, φαρμακοποιούς, διατροφολόγους, διαιτολόγους, ψυχολόγους, κοινωνικούς λειτουργούς. Οι ιατροί είναι γενικά πιο ικανοποιημένοι από τη συνεργασία τους με τους νοσηλευτές, οι τελευταίοι, όμως, πιστεύουν ότι δεν χαίρουν της εκτίμησης του ιατρικού σώματος και ζητούν να συμμετέχουν περισσότερο στο σχεδιασμό των διεπιστημονικών μελετών. Πρόσφατες μελέτες έδειξαν ότι η διεπιστημονική συνεργασία είχε θετικά αποτελέσματα, όσον αφορά τη διάρκεια και το κόστος νοσηλείας. Απαιτούνται καλύτεροι σχεδιασμοί των μελετών και διεύρυνσή τους.

In the hospital practice, the simplest form of interdisciplinary collaboration concerns the nurse-physician one. In this complex, physi­cians consider the quality of collaboration with nurses higher than nurses themselves. In the contrary, nurses demand better respect from physicians and better defined collaboration to allow developing strategies for training health care professionals to collaborate efficiently and for evaluating their im­pact on health care quality. Some recent interdis­ciplinary studies suggest that better nurse-physi­cian col­laboration may improve patient outcomes and reduce length of stay and hospital costs.
