Περίληψη – Summary

Η υπερπλαστική ουλίτιδα είναι ανεπιθύμητη ενέργεια της θεραπείας με ανταγωνιστές ασβεστίου, φαινυτοΐνη, κυκλοσπορίνη και αντισυλληπτικά με οιστρογόνα και προγεστερόνη. Αναλύθηκε η κλινική εικόνα του φαινομένου, οι διάφορες μορφές που παίρνει σε σχέση με τη βαρύτητά του, το σημείο του στόματος όπου εμφανίζεται πιο έντονα, και η σχέση του με το δείκτη πλάκας και το δείκτη αιμορραγίας του ασθενούς. Εξετάζεται η βαρύτητα και η συχνότητα εμφάνισης της παθολογικής αυτής κατάστασης σε σχέση με το φύλο, την ηλικία, τη διάρκεια της θεραπείας, αλλά και το κατά πόσο επηρεάζεται από το δείκτη πλάκας και το δείκτη αιμορραγίας του ασθενή. Επίσης,  ερευνάται η επιδείνωσή της με την ταυτόχρονη λήψη άλλων φαρμάκων, τη μεταμόσχευση οργάνων και μυελού των οστών ή ακόμη και με διάφορες συνήθειες του ασθενή, όπως η διατροφή του ή η στοματική αναπνοή. Εξετάζονται οι μηχανισμοί αιτιοπαθογένειάς της και παρατίθενται κλινικά και ιστολογικά στοιχεία καθώς και ενδοστοματικές  φωτογραφίες που δείχνουν το μέγεθος της υπερπλασίας που προκαλείται. Αναφέ-ρονται οι διάφοροι τρόποι αντιμετώπισης (χειρουργικοί ή μη) με την παράλληλη ή όχι διακοπή της συγκεκριμένης φαρμακευτικής αγωγής.

This paper analyzes the appearance of gingival hyperplasia, as undesirable action, follow­ing the treatment with specific medicines. The im­portance and the frequency of the appearance of this pathological situation are examined in relation to sex, age, and the duration of treatment but also to how much it is influenced by the plaque index and the bleeding index of the patient. It also investi­gates, the deterioration with the simultaneous re­ception of other medicines, the transplant of organs and bone marrow or even with various habits of the patient such as his diet or the oral breathing. The pathogenic mechanisms are examined and clinical and histological elements are also cited as well as intraoral photographs that show the size of hyper­plasia that is caused. Τhe various ways of confron­tation are reported (chirurgical or not) with the inter­ruption  or not of the specific pharmaceutical treat­ment.
