This particular research is exploring the midwives’ knowledge, opinions and attitudes towards their role in the sexual and reproductive health education provided in schools. Having adequately trained midwives involved in the sexual education of adolescents is very important towards the overall improvement of health promotion and of health education for our youth. The results showed that most midwives have positive attitudes and high levels of self-confidence towards being engaged in the sexual education of adolescents. However, further education is required to be undertaken in order for midwives to improve their competence in counselling and teaching methods so that they can respond better to the requirements of providing sexual and reproductive health education to youth.
