Review
Περίληψη – Summary

The breast presents significant changes in shape, size and function in association with puberty, pregnancy, lactation and menopause. This article is a review of the most frequent breast abnormalities and diseases in young girls and adolescents. Despite that the most breast abnormalities in puberty are benign, they may affect psychosocial well-being. They should be early recognized and in many cases surgical procedure will be proposed in order to correct the abnormality and to give to the young girl a good self- image and also to avoid psychological problems.
