Other Terms review article
Summary Different studies showed that ω-3 fatty acids, via their conversion to eicosanoids and by interference in prostaglandin metabolism, exert profound effects on several physiological functions. This review presents the actions of ω-3 fatty acids on cardiovascular disease (hypolipidemic, hypotensive and antithrombotic effects), inflammation, immunology and cancer, their role in growth and development and give the sources of these acids and dietary recommendations.
