| Summary | Five types of lysine cores suitable for the solid phase synthesis of one, two or three epitopes containing antigenic peptides or template assembled synthetic proteins have been synthesized on the Merrifield, Wang, 2-chtorodiphenyl methyl and 2-chlorotrityl resins. The individual epitopes have been introduced to the new lysine cores synthesized, by the condensation of the corresponding protected fragments. These can be easily obtained by solid phase methods using 2-chlorotrityl resin as the solid support. This method has the advantage of using purified peptide fragments. In contrast, the assembly of the required peptide sequence in a step by step chain elongation, yields very difficult the pure MAP. A synthetic MAP containing epitopes of the amino and carboxy terminal as well, of the protein Prothymosine a, has been proved highly antigenic. | |
