Summary The purpose of this study was to recognize from 2972 basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) of the skin those BCCs that showed histologically: a) infiltrative growth pattern, b) fibrosclerosing activity of the underlying stroma and c) absence of inflammatory lymphoid reaction (immune response). A retrospective study of 759 biopsies of sclerosing type BCC was performed through last six years according to: a) sex, b) age, c) location single or multifocal and d) the presence or not of immune response in the histological picture. Sclerosing BCCs lesions are observed almost equal in both sexes with slight predominance to men (1.12/1) 60-80 years old (55.5%), affect mainly nose and cheeks areas (53.8%) and show little (20.7%) or no inflammatory reaction (43%) in the histologic picture. 13.3% of BCCs had a multifocal location. Mohs micrographie surgery was the preferable applied therapy. Morpheaform sclerosing BCC, unlike other BCCs types, is a special type of BCC that presents an aggressive behavior with possibility of recurrences or metastases, similar to squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), as a consequence of the absence of lymphoid inflammatory reaction and the presence of multifocal location.
