Summary The article presents a geometric display an equivalent area with the area of a concave receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, when a single point sensitivity (Se) and specificity (Sp) is available. The area which is being displayed graphically is equivalent with the area which has been calculated according to the minimax approximation. It is not the graphical representation of the ROC curve, but a geometric approximation using a polygon with five or six sides, depending on the three cases of calculation of the area that is included under a ROC curve. The distribution of the discriminative ability of the test using minimax approximation is being better comprehended with the suggested graphical representation compared to the discriminative ability which is calculated with the trapezium rule.
