Summary Thirty-two winstar rats were caused to hepatic necrosis and encephalopathy with 400 mg/kg TAA (hepatotoxin thioacetamide) in three consecutive time periods of 24 hours. The thirty-three rats were divided into four groups. Group I, control group to which placebo 0.9% NaCl was administered while to other groups 300 mg/kg per weight kg NaCl was administered (NH4Cl), 600 mg/kg weight of ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) and 900 mg/kg weight of ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) respectively. Group III which was administered 600 mg/kg weight of NaCl (NH4Cl) improved the biochemical, immune-biological and histological indexes and presented statistic grandness p<0.001 ANOVA TEST. Finally, it also reduced the hepatic encephalopathy with the same grandness.
