| Summary | Nurses are the key providers of Diabetes Care. They provide diabetes self-management education to patients and their parents. Therefore, nurse’s knowledge and skill in given diabetes care is very important. Thought, it was considered appropriate the interpretation of the literature to analyze the studies set out the knowledge level of nurses in IDDM and the application to the education of children and their parents. That requires a good level of cognitive diabetes. In addition to, nurses have the ability to apply in everyday clinical practice the knowledge and skillfulness in the care of children with diabetes education. The aim of this study is to review the role and competence of staff nonspecialized nurses on their perceived and actual level of knowledge, skillfulness and the way of behaviours among the children with T1DM. Several literature search methods were used in the original meta-analysis to locate published studies of nursing knowledge for the diabetes patient education of children and adolescences. There were fount seventeen studies researching the perceived and actual level of diabetes mellitus knowledge among Nurses. Nurses has the responsibility to educate patients with correct and update information, therefore, they seem to have lack of knowledge for the basic information that they should have so that they can provide education. In conclusion, the lack of knowledge among nursing staff has contributed to diabetes patient receiving inadequate health care instruction. That’s why new education programs should be designed to meet the learning needs of each nurse. | |
