Summary In this paper is proposed the method of extension for the calculation of the area under the con­cave ROC curve, and determination of corresponding function, if only one pair of specificity (Sp0) and sensi­tivity (Se0) is available. The method of extension is algebraic and is supported by the assumption that the ROC curve constitutes the graphic representation of the function which is continuous, without local extremes and has the form TP=f(FP)= κ0 + κ1FP +κ2FP2, [0,1]. The area is calculated by the formula:

AUC=(7Sp0+7Se0-2Sp0Se0)/12
