| Summary | Therapeutics of cardiovascular disorders remain an elite research area in modern pharmacology. With the evolution of molecular medicine, both pathophysiological and molecular background of cardiovascular disorders are examined thoroughly in order to identify novel pharmacological targets. Thrombus formation is a common event in cardiovascular disorders, such as acute coronary syndrome, chronic heart failure and brain ischemic infraction. In this study 19 patients, having one of the above diseases, were clinically examined and hospitalized under a specific therapeutic scheme. HDL, LDL, TG and PLT values were estimated in correlation with the drugs administrated. According to the results, platelets’ cyclooxygenase inhibitor (acetylsalycilic acid) and ADP-receptor antagonist (clopidogrel) are the most common drug used as thromboprophylaxis for acute coronary syndrome, chronic heart failure and brain ischemic infraction. HDL mean levels were decreased in all disease-groups, but only brain ischemic infraction patients have relatively elevated LDL mean values (128.375 ± 27.6). Patients with coronary heart disease had relatively high mean TG levels (147.66 ± 56.53), while PLT were ranging in normal values in all disease-groups. Antiplatelet agents are an important therapeutic class in these three cardiovascular diseases and, according to our study must be prescribed only to patients with normal PLT numbers. | ||
