| Summary | Fundamental aim of this study is to evaluate the predictive ability of various financial data included in the interim (quarterly) statements regarding the annual financial results (profit or loss before tax) of the companies listed in the ASE. The material used comes from the quarterly financial statements published by companies listed in the ASE’s industry “Health” for the years 2005-2008. The results show that the volatility of the annual profit/loss before tax can be explained by the variability of the third and fourth quarter profit/loss before tax at 85.5%. Interestingly, sales are not an explanatory variable of earnings and this is a subject for future investigation. | |
