Περίληψη – Summary
|
– The neuroendocrine system of the Corticotropin-Releasing Factor (CRF) is expressed in the liver but its biological role remains unknown. Aim of the present study was to investigate effects in the apoptotic pathways of the Bcl-2 homologue proteins and the Fas/Fas L in the rat liver, using the experimental model of obstructive jaundice. Liver apoptosis was induced in rats by surgery for hepatic duct ligation. Expression levels of the bcl-2, bax, fas and fas-L genes were measured by real-time RT-PCR. Administration of CRF receptor antagonists resulted in a significant reduction in the transcript levels of bcl-2, fas and fas-L in the first post-operation day in the rats with or without obstructive jaundice, while there was no effect on bax. In the same tissue, the expression of the neuropeptides Ucn I and II was shown by conventional RT-PCR, as well as the CRF1 και CRF2 receptors, that presumably mediate the effects shown. In conclusion, our results show a paracrine involvement of the CRF system in the apoptotic pathways of the Bcl-2 proteins and Fas/FasL in the rat liver. |
