Publication Ethics and Malpractice

Publication Ethics and Malpractice

Publication ethics aim to ensure high-quality scientific publications, public trust in scientific findings, and that scientists receive credit for their work and ideas.

Research using Human Subjects

Epitheorese klinikes Farmakologias kai Farmakokinetikes – Greek Edition requires authors to provide a statement that informed consent was obtained from participants in any research involving human subjects.

Human studies categorized by race/ethnicity, age, disease/disabilities, religion, sex/gender, sexual orientation, or other socially constructed groupings, should include a justification of the choice of definitions and categories, including whether any rules of human categorization were required by the relevant funding agencies. Appropriate non-stigmatizing language should be used when describing different groups.

Research using Animal Subjects

Epitheorese klinikes Farmakologias kai Farmakokinetikes – Greek Edition requires authors to provide a statement that institutional and national guidance for the care and use of laboratory animals was followed e.g all efforts were made to ameliorate any suffering of animals and details of how this was achieved should be provided.

Support Diversity

PHARMAKON-Press aims to build a workplace as diverse as the world we serve ensuring an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment in scientific publishing regardless of background or identity.

Plagiarism

Authors must not use the words, figures, or ideas of others without attribution. All sources must be cited at the point they are used, and reuse of wording must be limited and be attributed or quoted in the text.
PHARMAKON-Press uses Crossref Similarity Check (iThenticate) before peer review and before acceptance. Manuscripts that are found to have been plagiarized or misconducted from a manuscript by other authors, whether published or unpublished, will be rejected immediately and the authors may incur sanctions.

Appeals and Complaints

If any authors are displeased and wish to make an appeal about an editorial decision or make a complaint they should contact the editorial office (pharmakonpress@pharmakonpress.gr) giving a reason why they feel the decision was incorrect. Any appeal will be reviewed by the Editor-In-Chief and one member of the Editorial board with expertise on the topic and a final decision will be made. Please note that authors may only appeal once.

Corrections in a manuscrit

If authors or reviewers identify an error in a manuscript, a correction letter should be published indicating where the mistakes were made, while the original source will be immediately corrected.

Open access and peer review

Epitheorese klinikes Farmakologias kai Farmakokinetikes – Greek Edition is an Open Access journal covers important aspects of clinical and applied Pharmacology and Therapeutics and Medicine in the mode of original articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, etc. in all areas of the field and making them freely available through online without any restrictions or any other subscriptions to researchers worldwide.

Epitheorese klinikes Farmakologias kai Farmakokinetikes – Greek Edition uses the Single-anonymous peer review to confirm the validity of the manuscript. Peer reviewers are experts who volunteer their time to help improve the manuscripts they review. When a manuscript is submitted to a journal, it is assessed to see if it meets the criteria for submission. If it does, the editorial team will select potential peer reviewers within the field of research to peer-review the manuscript and make recommendations. Editor-In-Chief can manage the whole submission/review/revise/publish process.

Authorship and acknowledgements

All listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution to the research in the manuscript, approved its claims, and agreed to be an author. It is important to list everyone who made a significant scientific contribution.Submitting authors must provide an ORCID and we encourage all authors to provide one.

Anyone who contributed to the research or manuscript preparation, but is not an author, should be acknowledged with their permission.

Conflicts of interest

Conflicts of interest do not always stop work from being published or prevent someone from being involved in the review process. However, they must be declared. A clear declaration of all possible conflicts – whether they actually had an influence or not – allows others to make informed decisions about the work and its review process. Authors must declare all potential interests in a ‘Conflicts of interest’ section, which should explain why the interest may be a conflict. If there are none, the authors should state “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.” Authors must declare current or recent funding (including article processing charges) and other payments, goods or services that might influence the work. All funding, whether a conflict or not, must be declared in the ‘Funding Statement’.
