Περίληψη – Summary	– Hormone-dependent tumors express multiple receptors that mediate growth, metastatic and immune effects. Using real-time RT-PCR, we measured the expression levels of the Gonadotropin-Releasing Factor (GnRH) and Corticotropin-Releasing factor (CRF) in breast cancer biopsies. Our results show expression of all receptor types in the cancer cells and in the adjacent non-malignant tissue. GnRH receptor levels were found higher and more frequently in the malignant than in the non-malignant cells, and within the same tumour, levels were positively correlated, implying a significant role of this receptor type in the malignant transformation process.
