The use of pesticides is widespread due to the large number of parasitic organisms. One major category of pesticides the insecticides is used to treat insects that cause significant damage in crops. In this study a review of the effects of pesticides in the genetic material (DNA) of mammals and in particular the man has been undertaken. The role of certain groups in the insecticide molecules is been described. The genotoxic effects in pesticides-exposed polulations are presented comparing results from different studies. In conclusion the long time use of insecticides has found to cause genetic damage in exposed populations.
