Η εφαρμογή της διορθωτικής ψιμυθίωσης διαρκείας ή το μόνιμο μακιγιάζ (PMU) όπως είναι ευρέως γνωστό, έχει γίνει διάσημο τα τελευταία χρόνια. Η ίδια διαδικασία μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί για να καλύψει παθολογικές καταστάσεις του δέρματος, να «εξαφανίσει» ουλές και να ολοκληρώσει τα αισθητικά αποτελέσματα των επανορθωτικών πλαστικών επεμβάσεων. Οι κίνδυνοι και οι επιπλοκές της διαδικασίας εφαρμογής της διορθωτικής ψιμυθίωσης διαρκείας περιλαμβάνουν μολύνσεις, αλλεργικές αντιδράσεις καθώς και δημιουργία ουλώδους ιστού. Το ξεθώριασμα της χρωστικής αλλά και η απογοήτευση από την εφαρμογή του χρώματος καθώς και το μη επιθυμητό αποτέλεσμα στο σχήμα, αποτελούν πολύ συχνά τα αίτια δυσαρέσκειας από την εφαρμογή. Υπάρχουν αρκετές λύσεις για τα συγκεκριμένα προβλήματα με πιο συχνά χρησιμοποιούμενη την αφαιρετική ικανότητα κάποιων  χημικών προϊόντων, αλλά και την εφαρμογή του λέιζερ χωρίς όμως η χρήση του να αποκλείει τις ανεπιθύμητες ενέργειες, όπως είναι η μετατροπή του μόνιμου μακιγιάζ σε σκουρότερο χρώμα  αλλά και τη δημιουργία ουλών στην περιοχή της εφαρμογής.
Permanent make up (pmu) has become very popular the last years. The same procedure is used to cover pathological skin problems and “vanish” scars over plastic surgery areas. Complications and threats of permanent make up include skin infections, allergic reactions and scar tissue creation. Colorant fading and bad shape disappointing are the most common reasons after pmu application. Laser removal is the most common solution to these problems but it cannot guarantee adverse reactions such as color darkening and scarring.
