Περίληψη – Summary
|
Το Σύνδρομο της Επίκτητης Ανοσολογικής Ανεπάρκειας (AIDS) αποτελεί πια σε πολλές χώρες σημαντικό πρόβλημα δημόσιας υγείας επιδημικού χαρακτήρα. Παγκοσμίως, στις 6.000 νέες περιπτώσεις/ημέρα μόλυνσης από τον ιό του HIV, ποσοστό 41%, αφορά νέους ηλικίας μεταξύ 15 και 24 ετών. ΣΚΟΠΟΣ: Η μελέτη σκοπό είχε την καταγραφή του επιπέδου των γνώσεων και της στάσης εφήβων ηλικίας 15-18 ετών απέναντι στον ιό HIV. ΥΛΙΚΟ-ΜΕΘΟΔΟΣ: Υλικό της μελέτης αποτέλεσαν 120 έφηβοι ηλικίας 15-18 ετών, που προσήλθαν στο τμήμα εμβολίων της Νομαρχίας Αθηνών. Ως μεθοδολογικό εργαλείο χρησιμοποιήθηκε ερωτηματολόγιο που συντάχθηκε για τις ανάγκες της μελέτης και στο οποίο περιλαμβάνονταν στοιχεία από ερωτηματολόγιο του ΚΕΕΛΠΝΟ. Το ερωτηματολόγιο ήταν ανώνυμο και τα στοιχεία συλλέχθηκαν με προσωπική συνέντευξη. Η ανάλυση των δεδομένων πραγματοποιήθηκε με το στατιστικό πακέτο SPSS έκδοση 15. ΑΠΟΤΕΛΕΣΜΑΤΑ: Ποσοστό 79,1% των ερωτηθέντων χρησιμοποιεί ως πηγή πληροφόρησης τα βιβλία και τα περιοδικά, σε ποσοστό 93,3% γνωρίζουν ότι ο ιός HIV βρίσκεται στο αίμα και τα παράγωγά του ενώ αντίστοιχα σε ποσοστό 71,6% και 70% ότι βρίσκεται στο σπέρμα και τα κολπικά υγρά. Σχετικά με τους τρόπους μετάδοσης του ιού, ποσοστό 95,9% του δείγματος θεωρεί μέσω της μετάγγισης αίματος, 97,5% μέσω των χρησιμοποιημένων βελονών και 87,5% μέσω της σεξουαλικής επαφής. Σε ποσοστό 67,7% οι έφηβοι που έχουν σεξουαλική επαφή δηλώνουν πως χρησιμοποιούν το προφυλακτικό ως μέσο προφύλαξης. Από την ανάλυση των αποτελεσμάτων, σύμφωνα με τη δοκιμασία Pearson correlation, βρέθηκε πως οι πηγές ενημέρωσης και η γνώση σε ποια υγρά του σώματος βρίσκεται ο ιός, έχουν στατιστικά σημαντική συσχέτιση (p<0,05) με τη χρήση προφυλακτικού κατά τη σεξουαλική επαφή. ΣΥΜΠΕΡΑΣΜΑΤΑ: Διαπιστώνεται πως αν και το επίπεδο γνώσεων του δείγματος απέναντι στον ιό HIV είναι ικανοποιητικό, τα ποσοστά που αφορούν τη σεξουαλική συμπεριφορά των εφήβων, με κυριότερο τη χρήση του προφυλακτικού, είναι ανησυχητικά. Προτείνεται σχεδιασμός και υλοποίηση Προγραμμάτων Αγωγής και Προαγωγής της Υγείας, με σκοπό την πρόληψη της μετάδοσης του ιού. Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) epidemic has become one of the greatest threats to human health and development. It still remains an important public health problem with 6,000 new cases per day (worldwide) being infected by HIV, of which 41% refers to young people aged between 15 and 24 years. Aim: The present exploratory descriptive research study, taking into account the potentiality of HIV prevention, attempts to explore the current knowledge and attitudes of adolescents aged between 15-18 years, concerning HIV /AIDS. Material-Method: The population sample included individuals (n=120) of young age (15-18 years old) selected as health service users in Public Health Center in Athens in 2010. A descriptive quantitative survey was conducted employing an anonymous structured closed type questionnaire, in which data where included from a questionnaire used by Hellenic Centre for Diseases Control and Prevention (HCDCP). For the statistical analysis the SPSS 15.0 software was used, whereas descriptive statistics were applied to analysing the data. Results: The majority of the respondents (79.1%) reported using as information sources, about AIDS, books and magazines, one hundred twelve (93.3%) of the respondents knew that HIV is in blood and its components while a significant percentage (71.6% and 70%) of the respondents reported that HIV remains in semen and vaginal secretions. Regarding the HIV transmission routes, the vast majority (95.9%) of the respondents reported through blood (97.5%) through needles and (87.5%) through sexual contact. Twenty one (67.7%) of the respondents, who ever had sex, always used condoms as a preventive measure. As analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis, it was found that the sources of information and the level of knowledge regarding body fluids and HIV detection, have a statistically significant correlation (p<0.005) with the condom use during sexual intercourse. Conclusions: It is conducted that the level of knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS transmission was satisfactory, even though a 32.3% of the respondents who did not use condoms was quite high. However, a number of misconceptions need to be corrected. Therefore, it is recommended that there is a need for implementation of STD control programs and provision of school sexuality education for adolescents and young adults. |
