Περίληψη – Summary | In this review, the current concepts of the participation of β-adrenergic receptors in the mechanism of stimulation and blockade is outlined. Several major developing concepts providing a basis for understanding the physiology and pathophysiology of cellular sensitivity to catecholamines such as space receptors, down-regulation and up-regulation of receptor number are analyzed. Finally, the relationship of these concepts to the pathophysiology of various diseases and clinical syndromes is discussed. | |
